magenta days

Between 2014 and 2016, I went to northern countries whenever I could. At first, I didn't know why I have been doing this. But when I took the photos after each trip, I realized that some parts of myself were there, that I could find something of myself in that geography, and the north became a passion for me.

I thought long and hard about these pieces after my last trip. I saw that the simplicity and serenity of the north made a connection with my soul.

In Sufism, the one who looks in the mirror and the reflection in the mirror are one. I am both the knowing subject and the object of my knowledge.

North was a mirror for me. I was the subject in his calm, his long nothingness. The object in my belongings, in my singularity, in my family.
